ENERGY EFFICIENCY SCHOOL PROGRAM

Energy Efficiency > Residential Programs > Energy Efficiency School Program

DP&L has partnered with the Ohio Energy Project to provide a free energy efficiency education program for teachers, students and their families in the Miami Valley.  As a part of the effort, DP&L will provide 9,000 take-home energy efficiency kits with accompanying classroom curriculum and teacher training.

DP&L has yearly worked with 60 schools, grades 5-12, since 2009.  Through hands-on activities in the classroom, the students learn valuable lessons about energy efficiency and conservation to share with their families, such as:

  • how to install the energy-saving devices from the kits in their homes.

  • how to make a difference by saving energy and helping their families save money at the same time.

The Ohio Energy Project, an award-winning energy education organization , delivers and facilitates the educational program for DP&L. The Ohio EPA recognized the program as an “Outstanding Energy Education Program” in 2008.
